Websites that explain what you do and bring in enquiries
Most visitors decide in a few seconds whether your business is right for them. Your website has to tell them clearly what you do, who it is for and how to get in touch, on a phone as well as on a desktop.
I design and build WordPress websites for small UK businesses: trades, clinics, caterers, consultants and other service businesses. Every site is planned around your customers, not a template with your logo swapped in. You get a custom responsive design, fast-loading pages and the SEO basics set up from day one.
Because it is built on WordPress, you can change text, photos and prices yourself. When you need something bigger later, such as new pages, online booking or a second language, the site is ready for it without a rebuild.

Website design questions, answered
How much does a website cost?
It depends on how many pages you need and what the site has to do. As a guide, a Starter Website with up to 10 pages starts from £400, and a Business Website with up to 15 pages starts from £800. If you also want to sell online, an Online Shop starts from £1,200.
After our first call I send you a written, fixed quote within 1 to 2 working days. It lists exactly what is included, so you know the full price before any work starts. If you ask for something extra along the way, I tell you what it costs before I do it.

How long does it take to build a website?
Most small business websites take 2 to 4 weeks from the first call to launch. A small site with ready content can be quicker. A larger site with more pages or custom features takes longer, and I give you a realistic date in the quote.
The thing that slows most projects down is content: page text, photos and your logo. At the start I tell you exactly what I need from you, and the timeline runs from when I have it.

Do I need to write the text and provide photos?
You know your business best, so the facts need to come from you. That does not mean writing polished pages. Rough notes, a list of your services or answers to a few questions are enough, and I shape them into clear text for each page.
Your own photos of your work, premises and team usually work better than stock images, because customers can see the real business. If you do not have good photos yet, I can use suitable licensed images for launch and swap them later.

Will I be able to update the website myself?
Yes. Your site is built on WordPress, so you can change text, photos, prices and opening hours, or add news posts, without touching any code. When the site goes live I show you how to make the everyday changes.
If you would rather not do it yourself, send me what needs changing and I will update it for you, either as a one-off job or as part of a monthly maintenance plan.

I already have a website. Do I need a new one?
Not always. I start by looking at what you have: how fast it is, how it works on a phone, how the pages are organised and whether it brings in enquiries. Sometimes a few fixes and a design refresh are enough. If the site is built in a way that will keep causing problems, a rebuild is usually cheaper in the long run. I explain why, and you decide.
If we do rebuild, I keep your existing page addresses or redirect them to the new ones, so you do not lose the Google rankings you already have.
